A group of friends asked Kim to teach them how to sew.

Kim began teaching a sewing club at Milton School in Rye.
2012

Sew Happy becomes incorporated.

Kim teaches the After School Program at Osborn, Heathcote and Cos Cob elementary schools
2014

Vanessa joins Sew Happy as a sewing instructor, teaching the After School Program
-
Summer Camp at Wainwright House, Rye, NY

8 Schools now running the Sew Happy After School Program (Milton, Osborn, Greenwich Academy, Cos Cob, Heathcote, Midland, Resurrection & Old Greenwich)
2015

Sew Happy After School Program now in 15 schools and being taught by 5 teachers

Gaby joins Sew Happy as a teacher and designer
2016

First sewing kit, The Happy Fox, is made in the USA by Haan Crafts using recycled materials

Tina joins Sew Happy

Sew Happy After School Program is in over 25 schools and being taught by 12 instructors
2017

Sew Happy After School Program now offered to over 60 schools as far as 50 miles away!

We now have 20 instructors!

We have 3 After School Club programs in New York City!

Sew Happy Sewing Machine School is running for the third time.

2019

Sew Happy moves in to a new office/studio in Mamaroneck, yay! The admin team is SEW happy to have it's own space. We offer sewing classes and birthday parties in our cute studio too.

Our After School Program is now being offered to over 70 schools in Westchester, Connecticut, New York City, Brooklyn and Long Island and we now have 25 instructors!

In addition to our own camps our sewing programs are being offered at private camps including Scarsdale JCC, Greenwich Academy and Hackley School.

2020
Sew Happy goes virtual and Kim joins forces with Cliona Cronin on The Mask Project.
2021
We expanded our studio to include a new Pink Studio for classes.
2022
Environmental Conservation Club at Rye High School comes to the studio to make bags to sell at Rye Farmers Market (also in '23 and '24).
2023
Started program at American Sign Language school in NYC.
Started working with Learning Link to give empty spots to kids at Mamaroneck Ave School.
Started working with Fieldston School
2024
Sew Happy is growing again! We’ve expanded our studio to include a new Yellow Studio for birthday parties, and we’re partnering with more schools on after-school clubs than ever before! We also became certified as a Women Owned Business. We also participated in community events at the Fall Monarch Butterfly Festival and the Jay Day Festival.
