The Sew Happy Journey For Kids
Our step-by-step Learning Pathway is designed to build skills in a clear, supportive progression. Students start with simple hand-sewing projects; as they grow, they gain access to advanced tools and techniques. Each level builds on the last, setting students up for success. Grouped by age and experience, classes ensure a safe, creative environment that encourages mindfulness, mastery, and a lifelong love of making.
HAND SEWING
Ages 6-14
Hand sewing is the ideal introduction to sewing at any age and remains a valuable skill even after students progress to sewing machines! Our exclusive, age-appropriate projects offer children meaningful screen-free creative time, helping them develop focus, patience, confidence, and problem-solving skills in a fun, hands-on environment. From themed sewing projects and colorful embroidery hoops to our popular Me & My Doll collection, children learn practical skills, experience the satisfaction of making something themselves, and build a foundation they can enjoy throughout their sewing journey.
Intermediate Sewing
Intermediate Sewing is the foundation of our sewing machine program, teaching students the essential skills needed to become confident, independent sewists. Building on their hand-sewing experience, students learn to operate sewing machines safely, use an iron, follow instructions, and develop practical construction techniques. Each session features one of our signature projects, such as the Charm Square Apron, Personality Pillow or Going Places Tote Bag. Students gain valuable problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the satisfaction of creating something they can use and enjoy.
Ages 8-14
advanced Sewing
Ages 9-14
Designed for students who have completed at least three sessions of Intermediate Sewing and mastered the essential skills, Advanced Sewing takes their abilities to the next level. Projects vary by season and introduce more challenging techniques, including installing zippers, working with stretch fabrics, creating linings, sewing buttonholes, and exploring decorative machine stitches. Students are encouraged to work more independently, tackle complex projects, and develop the confidence to bring their own sewing ideas to life.
